IMYOURMEDIA Exclusive: One On One With Sheneka Adams And IMYOURMEDIA
If you haven’t heard of Sheneka Adams then you must be living under a rock without internet access. Sheneka is King Magazine’s Web Girl of the year…yea, she’s having a good year. Now to be completely honest — when I first read about Video Model, Sheneka Adams, I was a little uncomfortable with my findings, most of the headlines and stories showed this beautiful young lady in shall we say very compromising positions. In respect to her I wanted to dig a little deeper into this seemingly one faceted beauty.
Sheneka granted me an interview, and I must say, after hanging up the phone with Ms. Adams, all I could think is “you never should judge a book by its cover” Sheneka’s an intelligent woman, that has learned from her mistakes, and is strong enough to open up and share her stories. She has definitely had fair share of pain, including losing a child, and public scrutiny and embarrassment, but what’s amazing is her outlook on life, her bubbly personality and laugher is almost contagious.

Check the interview out below:
IYM–Hey Sheneka, How are you?
SA–I’m great blessed, having fun.
IYM–Now currently you on tour, right?
SA–Yes, I’m touring as King Magazine’s web girl of the year, and I’m having so much fun, I never expected any of this, every week I’m in a different city, it’s just crazy, but I love it and I’m having so much fun, I didn’t know so many people admired me…it’s a blessing
IYM–How are you and your family adjusting to your Celebrity?
SA–It’s different for my family, there handling it, but I have to be careful, you know with so many different stories that come out, I have to be careful , of the things I do and say, especially on twitter.
IYM–Growing up in Athens, did you ever image this life for you self?
SA–Never in a million years did I imagine this life for myself, I mean growing up I would tell my friends that I was going to be a model, and I don’t think anyone believed me, I didn’t even think it would happen but, I knew I wanted it.
IYM–It’s kind of like what Oprah preaches?
SA–Yes, if you speak it into existence, it will happen.
IYM–I read that you are a self proclaimed nerd, and that you love to read?
SA–Ha-ha, yes, ha, I am. You know in High school, books always came first, and thankfully my mom played a role in making sure, I stay on top of my school work, I graduated in the top 20 percent of my class, with a 3.8 GPA. My mom had high expectations; I give thanks to her and my father…and family…
IYM–What was the last novel you read?
SA–The last book I read was the coldest winter ever; I don’t know the author…
IYM–Sister Soulja
SA– yes, I could not put it down, I really enjoyed it, and she is a great writer.
IYM–I heard an interview you did with Hot 107.9 dirty boys and you mentioned that you lost a child? Is that true?
SA–Yes… (Pause)…it’s a very touchy subject…now I’m crying…
(Pause for about 2 mins) I had a son in 2008 and he died.
IYM–Did your son’s passing affect you career?
SA–I would say it opened my eyes to a lot of things in life. It’s a very touchy subject… the situation I was in was not healthy, and sometimes God shows you that, in different ways that I could do better, I’m not mad by what happened, I actually feel blessed that I was able to experience it..I’m blessed…but the wound hasn’t healed.
IYM–How old were you?
SA–18
IYM–On your Blog “Vixen Gossip”-I came across a very personal story that referenced an incident that happens far too often, in the post you described a incident were you woke up, in a hotel room with two unfamiliar men, was that a true story?
SA–Yes it’s a true story. I write short stories on my blog…
Excerpt from the Vixen Gossip:
I awake…naked on a queen sized hotel bed with two other men lying next to me. I don’t even recall how or when I got here. I look around for my clothes, still confused and dizzy. As I push my hand in between my legs, I felt what I feared the most. I had been drugged and God knows what was done to my body.
I go and sit in the tub, wishing, praying to God….PLEASE, please take my life right now. I was being selfish, not thinking of the many people that would mourn for me. “Where the fuck was he at?” He was no where to be found. I still hadn’t figured out who the two men were, lying on the bed next to me….honestly I didn’t want to find out.
Is this really what life has to offer me? Is this what I continue to deal with because the man I had grown to love was the devil in human form, forcing me to sell my soul to those who lusted over my perfectly developed body…….why me?
IYM–What compelled you to share that story with basically the world?
SA–I have no problem sharing my story, If me telling someone about my experience can prevent them from going down the same path, I feel, but, I don’t mind sharing.
IYM–With such a strong story, and the recent controversy around Rihanna’s man down video, how do you feel about the video and its msg?
SA–I don’t see the big deal; I love the video, song, and the msg.
IYM–So you’re writing a book, will it be a biography?
SA–Yes, I working on my book now, I can’t tell you too much but I will address the short story incident, and more personal stories.
IYM–I know you have a great friendship with Jacob York, how has he impacted your life?
SA–A friend of mine introduced me to him, and he’s a great person, When I met him I just sat down and told him all my problems, and he listened, then he gave me advice, it was needed, then he just started helping me with my career, he introduced me to my current manager,
IYM–So his impact was strong?
SA–Yes, I was modeling at first, so to meet someone with so much wisdom, and experience in the business, he has had a major impact on my life, and he knows what he’s talking about.
IYM–So let talk about Twitter, on Tuesday-and-Thursdays, you seem to own twitter?
SA–Ok its start out as a joke, and then women started, hitting my up asking were they could send their pictures. I was not in any way trying to exploit women.
IYM–So was that the feedback you received from it, that you were exploiting women?
SA–Well a lot of women would say it gave them confidence, and others would say it was “exploitation” but, I would never do that, I wasn’t trying to exploit anyone.
IYM–So what does Ms. Adams have in store for us in the future?
SA–I have a King Magazine cover, and upcoming Smooth Magazine cover-I don’t want to give too much away but, it’s going to be shocking, so look out for that. Also my book, and I do some nonprofit work with my Friend Cristal’s organization, “Be a Role Model” you can find more info about the organization at bearolemodel.org, and her twitter handle is @cristalthegreat, I love helping her with that, and much more so look out!
